We fell in love with the living art that is the Suri alpaca, and today
we share a farm with around 180 Suris in Concordia, Missouri.
We are surrounded by the grace and beauty of Suri alpacas.
We make breeding decisions carefully, using top stud males and
females who have the characteristics to continue improvement of
the Suri breed. We don’t want to just breed. We want to improve.
We gather data from a variety of sources to help us make breeding
decisions. Each year we have fiber samples analyzed from
our animals to determine fineness, consistency, and comfort factor.
We do skin biopsies to determine density of fiber. We use information
from the Suri Herd Improvement Program (SHIP) to identify
strengths and weaknesses of each animal. And, we show our
animals at alpaca shows to see how they stack up to other highquality
alpacas and get feedback from alpaca judges.
We were honored to receive the Judges Choice for both males
and females at The 2017 Futurity. Argento’s Moonlight of Harmony
won the Judges Choice award for females. Tikanui’s Zen of
Harmony received the Judges Choice for males. And our Pucara
Puresuri Tikanui was named light Suri Herdsire of the Year.
We specialize is helping new farms start up. We help people who
are interested in raising Suris define their goals, select alpacas to
match their goals, and then provide ongoing mentoring.
